From Clone to Hipster: Gay Images in Pornography
Peter Rehberg’s talk will focus on how the propagation of pornography in society has changed gay culture, not necesssarily because we nowadays have different sex, but rather because the image of gays has changed. Why are the «sex-clones» of the eighties and nineties display hairless pumped up muscled bodies, whilst every gay man today must wear a beard in order to get other men into bed?
Peter Rehberg is a cultural theorist and journalist. His areas of expertise are masculinities, postpornography and celebrity cultures.
